The cool and humid winter brings about temperatures between 0ºC and 15ºC (32ºF - 59ºF). In average, the colder season of the year will have 40 rainy days and 50 dry days. In the winter, we usually have eight hours of sun per day.
The spring is usually quite pleasant whatever the place within the region, with temperatures that vary between 11ºC and 20ºC (52ºF - 68ºF). However, if you travel during the month of April, you should always have an umbrella ready just in case.
The summer – with temperatures that range between 15ºC and 27ºC (59ºF - 81ºF) – celebrates the region with its long and hot days. In Leiria, thermometers will easily go as high as 35ºC (95ºF) in hotter days. In some places of Santarem, temperatures will often exceed 40ºC (104ºF).

Whatever the season, always bring a sweater; nights are not always inviting to stay outdoors, particularly in Fatima, where the wind is almost always present.
