Via Crucis is one of the highlights of Ourem’s cultural activities, and it is one of the better achieved re-enactments on a national level. Thousands of people watch this ceremony in the Medieval Town of Ourem, where approximately 100 extras take part in the re-enactment of the day of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. With prayers and religious chants, the 14 Stations of the Cross are re-enacted just as in the Bible.
